Autocannons: A versatile weapon system with multiple ammo types:
Airburst Rounds: Explodes above ground, scattering fragments in a concentrated cone—ideal for densely packed infantry.
Fragmentation Rounds: Creates a spherical explosion on impact, covering a wider area but with less concentrated damage.
APFSDS (armor-piercing, fin-stabilized, discarding sabot) Rounds: Specialized for piercing heavy armor with pinpoint precision. Best against vehicles and fortified targets.
Railgun: A cutting-edge weapon with unparalleled muzzle velocity and devastating firepower. Though slower to reload and expensive to operate, its precision and speed make it ideal for neutralizing vehicles before they can react.
Radiation Laser: Delivers instant damage with exceptional accuracy, making it a surgical tool for high-value infantry targets. However, its power is ineffective against armored vehicles, as they can deflect the laser entirely.
Cluster Munitions: Devastating area-of-effect weapons that unleash smaller explosives:
AP (anti-personnel) Minefield: Mines detonate on contact, posing a serious danger to anyone who moves carelessly—enemy or ally alike. The explosions can create chaos among enemies, with panicked troops accidentally triggering additional mines in a chain reaction.
Fragmentation Bomblets: Impact grenades that cover an extremely wide area, making it nearly impossible for infantry to escape. This devastating weapon is highly effective but also poses significant risks, as its indiscriminate blasts can easily harm allies or civilians caught in the area.
Light Flare Shell: Detonates high above the ground, deploying a brightly glowing flare to illuminate the battlefield. While less common in modern operations, it serves as a fallback for visibility during night missions when thermal or night vision systems aren’t available.
Enhanced Combat Systems
I’ve refined many aspects of how gunship weapons work for a more immersive experience:
Enhanced Audio and Visual Effects: Weapons now sound and feel more impactful, with detailed effects and optimized performance.
Recoil and Gunship Shake: Every weapon now causes the gunship to shake based on its size and power. Heavier weapons produce stronger recoil, but camera zoom adjustments ensure this doesn’t interfere with precision targeting.
Gun Turn Speed: Weapons now have realistic turn rates, adding a layer of tactical planning. Heavier weapons can take several seconds to align, rewarding players who anticipate and position wisely.
